Brian is an accomplished musician whose love of music began at the age of 11 when he first picked up a Cornet.  He also plays trombone, euphonium, baritone, tenor horn, Eb & Bb Bass and can even get a note out of a sousaphone, one of those huge brass instruments they play in American marching bands.

md-554x477In his long career Brian has played in many bands including Westham Secondary School Band, Weymouth Amateur Big Band, St Swithun’s Band, Bridport, Weymouth Concert Brass, Ferndown Concert Brass and in addition he has his own brass group called Brass Tacks who regularly play at various locations across Dorset.

Brian played trombone with Lyme Regis Town Band for 4 years but took over the baton in January 2016.  He has since led the band very successfully through a very busy summer season.

Brian lives and works in Weymouth but he finds the time to travel to Lyme every Tuesday and Thursday evenings to take practice and is unstinting in his dedication to the band.
