A village celebration

A huge thank you to the lovely people at All Saints who invited us, yet again, to play at their annual Christmas Concert on Wednesday evening. We have been taking part in this event for many years and always look forward to it.

The concert was organised by David Knight, who was MC, and Steve Holt, and they put together a veryAllSaints 2017 1 (640x480) enjoyable and varied programme, including a reading, aAll Saints 2017 2 (640x480) clarinet solo by the very talented Arthur Docherty accompanied by Louise Elliott, a Barbershop Quartet and the WI performing a very amusing skit based on the story of Cinderella. The All Saints’ Offbeats entertained with a medley of Christmas favourites played mainly on saxophone: but the highlight of the evening for us were the children from All Saints Primary School who sang several songs from their Christmas Show. The evening concluded with The Twelve Days of Christmas, with appropriate actions, of course, sung by the audience and the band.

A lovely time was had by all and the best bit of all is that they want us back again next year!

I forgot to add that we all enjoyed mince pies and mulled wine in the interval which explains why the photos we took are somewhat fuzzy…
