Five dates

We have been busy.

We were finally able to hold the AGM we should have had in January and with a new committee in place we have been making plans for the remainder of this year.

Unfortunately there won’t be a service in Lyme Regis Parish Church on Remembrance Sunday but we will be joining the Royal British Legion and representatives from other organisations in the town for an outdoor event  at 11.00 am on Sunday, 14th November, to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the service of their country.

After careful consideration we have decided not to hold our Annual Christmas Concert this year as there has been insufficient time to prepare and we are still not out of the woods with regard to the virus.  However, we will be joining the good folk of All Saints for their Christmas Concert on Wednesday, 8th December at 7.15 pm.  We regularly make the trip across the border into Devon for this evening of fun and laughter and it’s one of our favourite events.  Once again we will be joined by our trainees who will be performing a couple of pieces with their tutor, Ellis Holt.

We also have three other events in our diary before the end of the year:

On Saturday, 11th December from 2.00 pm until 3.00 pm we will be playing carols outside Tesco in Seaton.

We will be joining the Rotary Club for their “Carols around the Christmas Tree” event in Broad Street, Lyme Regis on Thursday, 23rd December at 7.00 pm.  This popular event is always very well attended as families gather in the town to start their Christmas celebrations.

Finally, we will be playing carols in the main street in Lyme Regis on Christmas Eve from 11.00 am until 1.00 pm (weather permitting) as people do their last minute shopping and get ready for the big day ahead.

After a well-earned break we will begin to plan our programme of engagements for 2022, when we hope things will be more settled.                                                Gilly Warr
