Tuesday update … and a new date for the diary

This evening we played a concert on Marine Parade as part of the week of events organised by the Lyme Regis Regatta and Carnival Committee.

It was a lovely warm evening, and with the sun setting over the bay it was the perfect setting for a concert.  The band was in fine form and we were pleased to welcome three guest players – Dian on cornet, Matt on E flat bass and David on trombone.  Two of our trainees also joined us – Orlando on tenor horn and Enzo on cornet.  Our other two trainees, Jonathan and his Dad, Christian, were on collecting duty this evening, joining our stalwarts Josh and Robert.

We played a varied programme of music which was well received by our audience, who joined in enthusiastically with some of the more lively pieces, which included Hootenanny, Ring Ring and Amarillo.

At the end of the concert David, our Musical Director, was pleased to announce that in conjunction with the Carnival Committee we are going to do one more concert to round off the summer season.  This will take place on Tuesday, 31st August at 8.00 pm on Marine Parade and we are hoping that everyone will come and join us for our Last Night on the Prom!                                                                                                                                                                                                   Gilly
